Once installed, RouterOS runs in trial mode. License information is available from the CLI system console: /system license print The RouterOS license scheme is based on Software-ID in which the RouterBOARD software ID is connecting to the storage media (HDD,NAND) and the x86 software-ID is connecting to the MBR and the CHR system-ID is restricting to the MBR and UUID.

For x86 systems, you must obtain a license key.
